Spotlight on: The Down Syndrome Network of Northern Nevada (DSNNN)

The Down Syndrome Network of Northern Nevada (DSNNN) was established in 2007 to help individuals with Down syndrome secure services, support, and opportunities to better their lives.

DSNNN empowers individuals with Down syndrome or other developmental disabilities, along with their families and support networks, to be fully included in the community. DSNNN does this through:
  • Advocacy & Engagement
  • Education & Training
  • Programs & Events
  • Services & Support
On March 21st, DSNNN will participate in its first Nevada’s Big Give® fundraising event (nvbiggive.org), and will benefit from Doughnuts for Down Syndrome, an event generously created by one of the area’s local donut shops, Doughboy Donuts.

More community engagement includes:
  • “Buddy Day @ Peccole” hosted by UNR men’s baseball team
  • Exhibit of hand-created art by members during Artown 2019
  • Adaptive recreation with Achieve Tahoe at Donner Lake
  • Annual Adventure to Artown
  • Annual Family Fun Night at Reno Aces
  • 14th annual Buddy Walk®
  • Annual participation in the Nevada Day Parade
All programming, events, family support services, and inclusion is provided free to individuals with Down syndrome or other developmental disabilities and their families and support network.

Nevada 2-1-1 is proud to announce its participation in 2-1-1 Counts!

Each year, 16 million people in the United States dial 2-1-1 for help with basic needs like food and shelter or emergency services. 2-1-1 Counts is the first tool to provide real-time, searchable, and visual presentations of data from 2-1-1 call centers across the nation in a simple to use format.  Using 2-1-1 Counts, you’ll find a snapshot of community-specific needs displayed by ZIP code, region, or call center as recently as yesterday, enabling you to easily check trends, make comparisons, and share information. 2-1-1 Counts works with your local 2-1-1 to share this information with community leaders and service agencies.

Visit the Nevada 2-1-1 Counts page at nv.211counts.org.
